Pair On a Bear
This one started off as a drawing challenge with my coworkers a while back. We had to combine the words "pear" and "bear" in a drawing somehow, but I decided to interpret the word "pear" as a "pair". :) I redid my illustration here and gave it a splash of color~fun times! ^_^

My Snow-Kirby
Over the holiday break, I took a trip to Big Bear with some family and friends. There was a ton of space on the mountain so I decided to make a Kirby out of snow. What a fun time! ^_^
Special thanks goes to Mike Altamirano for his helpful suggestions.

Collage Piece
I was in the mood to try something new so after gathering a bunch of old videogame magazines and such, I started tearing up pieces and assembling them. The concept was loosely based off a sketch I did when drawing with my pals. :) It's hard to tell what it is, but I just had fun with the piece.

Drawing with Friends Is Always Fun! ^_^
On Saturday a bunch of us went sketching by Gallery Nucleus and I started a drawing, then passed my sketchbook around the table so everyone in the group could add to it. It was a fun exercise and this is what we came up with:
This other drawing evolved from the swirly blue line my friend drew in my book (it's in the center of the piece). There was really loud music blaring at our hangout spot so on I decided to make the piece about music.

Letting It Flow
I was in one of those moods where you're blanking out but your hand just keeps going. Before I knew what happened, this bear showed up first, followed by the rest of the picture. I next thought what would a giraffe want to wear? :)
These were more drawing challenges with coworkers, and so much fun! The first was combine the following words into a drawing: wasp, leg, and deity. The second was much harder because we tried to combine 6 words together: diminutive (tiny), flight, cactus, squid, raccoon, milk carton. Hahha, too many words is not recommended. ^_^

Trying to Keep It Loose
Here's a fun study of Charlotte off a "Castlevania Portrait of Ruin" advertisement, and also another off a photograph I took in Switzerland. I'd like to go back in and add more detail to the town, but for the time being it is what it is. :)

Use The Line
In this drawing challenge, the artists in our group rotated sketchbooks and drew random lines on a blank page of someone else's book. The books were then returned to their original owners, and the owner had to turn that line into a drawing.
The colored line below is the original line done by Alex. I then turned his line into a pirate treehouse. :)

More Delineations
Here was a warm-up sketch of the Irvine Spectrum I did during one of our lunchtime drawing sessions. Also the trailer for the new "Castlevania" game looked cool so here was a Prismacolor mock-up of the character, Death. :) That was a fun one!

Interpreting Anne of Green Gables
I've been listening to audio books for the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery and was really inspired by the main character. Here's a painting I did.

Practice Continues
Here's another Prismacolor one, along with a couple of other sketches. I was drawing out of a magazine and sadly the center model really was as skinny as the drawing.

Prismacolor Practice
I've been trying to experiment and work more with my Prisma Color markers. I've had them for years, and it doesn't make sense to have packs and not use them right? :P Here were some studies:

Drawing Challenges
My coworkers and I have been taking the time to do drawing challenge sketches. This exercise involves everyone throwing out a random word and making a drawing combining all the words together.
There were 3 of us, so with the 3 key words, I came up with these doodles. It was really fun seeing what the other guys came up with in the end because we all had such different ideas. :)
